IDR is seeking a GCP Data Governance Consultant to join one of our top clients for an onsite opportunity in New York City, NY. This role involves designing, implementing, and managing enterprise data governance frameworks using Google Cloud Platform's native tooling. It is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on professional to contribute to a critical project at the intersection of technology and business within a leading organization.
Position Overview for the GCP Data Governance Consultant:
- Support the design, implementation, and ongoing management of data governance solutions leveraging GCP tools such as Dataplex and Knowledge Catalog.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define, enforce, and promote data standards, policies, and metadata management practices.
- Establish data lineage, data quality monitoring, and access control frameworks aligned with organizational policies.
- Build and maintain a comprehensive data catalog with accurate schema documentation, business glossaries, and data classification.
- Produce governance documentation, policies, and artifacts to support enterprise data standards and ownership.
Requirements for the GCP Data Governance Consultant:
- Intermediate to Advanced hands-on experience with GCP, including Dataplex, Knowledge Catalog, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and IAM.
- Intermediate experience with metadata management, data lineage, data classification, and data quality frameworks.
- Advanced ability to define and own governance policies end-to-end.
- Advanced stakeholder engagement skills — ability to translate technical governance concepts for business audiences.
- Preferred experience in data lake architecture and design, familiarity with enterprise data governance frameworks such as DAMA or DCAM.
