IDR is seeking a Payroll Specialist I to join one of our top clients for Memphis, Tennessee. This is a full-time remote opportunity based in Memphis, offering the chance to work within a dynamic environment focused on payroll processing and related functions.
Position Overview for the Payroll Specialist I:
- Assist in the full cycle payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries efficiently and professionally
- Prepare payroll journal entries and review quarterly payroll tax reports
- Support year-end payroll processing, including W-2 and 1099 preparation
- Handle ad hoc payroll issues as they arise, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills
Requirements for the Payroll Specialist I:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field
- 0-2 years of experience in payroll processing
- Experience in payroll systems, preferably with Workday or similar ticketing systems
- Familiarity with garnishment management is a plus
- Professionalism and integrity in handling confidential information, with strong attention to detail
