Gemstar is looking for an experienced Machine Operator to join the team at our location in Cannon Falls, MN! The position is responsible for set up and operation of Gemstar's roto-molding equipment to produce parts per specifications pertaining to size, warpage, and aesthetics. Wage Range: USD $21.74 - $29.08 per Hour

Location: Cannon Falls, MN

Type: Full Time – On-site

Schedule: 4/10 hour days 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM (Monday through Thursday)

                    - Overtime is scheduled as needed.

A day in the life of a Machine Operator (Robotics) at Gemstar includes: 

  • Operates roto-molding equipment as business needs require.
  • Reviews work orders to determine what mold and materials are required.
  • Prepares molds by cleaning and applying release agents when necessary.
  • Weighs the correct shot weight in order to achieve the proper wall thickness per print.
  • Inputs proper operational cycles into computer per work order instructions.
  • Loads and unloads product, being careful not to damage molds.
  • Reads blueprints and SOP’s to ensure that products are produced in accordance with company QA/QC standards 
  • Cuts and sorts scrap materials to type and color
  • Is extremely quality conscious of mold handling, care, and maintenance. 
  • Performs continuous inspection of work performed to ensure that tools and molds produced are consistent with company standards of quality.
  • Maintains an awareness of variable conditions affecting the operation of equipment such as heat cycles, oven temperature, cooling cycles, inert gas or air, and the ratio of rotation of both axes.
  • Always maintains department in a neat and orderly manner. 
  • Aware of and complies with ISO standards and Gemstar’s quality management system.
  • May perform reasonably similar or related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High degree of mechanical aptitude and good attention to detail
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at one time.
  • Openness to flexibility to work in multiple areas depending on the company’s need. 
  • Above average skills in problem solving, troubleshooting and communication.
Education & Experience 
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 or more years’ experience in production environment preferred.
