Gemini, Inc is looking for an experienced Senior Cost Accountant to join our team in one of these four locations: Taylor, TX; Las Colinas, TX; Decorah, IA; Cannon Falls, MN. This position is responsible for supporting the goals and visions of the company while being responsible for the daily performance and costing processes of the Finance Department. This role is responsible for maintaining the integrity of product costing, inventory valuation, and manufacturing financial reporting. You will be a key business partner to operations by providing meaningful cost analysis, identifying opportunities for margin improvement, and supporting strategic decision-making working closely with plant leadership, supply chain, engineering, and finance teams to ensure accurate product costing and inventory controls while driving continuous process improvements.
Wage Range: USD $ 75,000 - $105,000 per year
Location: Taylor, TX; Las Colinas, TX; Decorah, IA; Cannon Falls, MN
Type: Full Time – Hybrid (Onsite minimum 3 days per week)
Schedule: 5/8 hours (Monday through Friday)
Travel: 25% or less
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain cost accounting systems to track expenses, labor, materials, and
overhead.
- Calculate and allocate costs to products, services, and projects, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
- Analyze cost data and identify variances or trends that may impact the company's profitability.
- Support the identification and implementation of cost-saving initiatives and process improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide insights for decision-making.
- Support annual physical inventories and cycle count programs.
- Review inventory reserves and recommend adjustments as necessary.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including cost reports and statements.
- Participate in the budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Partner with Finance, Production and Supply Chain in reporting and costing activities.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting principles.
- Assist with year-end audits and other financial assessments.
Manufacturing Partnership
- Partner with plant managers and operational leaders to understand cost drivers.
- Provide financial support for continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in new product costing and quoting activities.
- Monitor key manufacturing performance indicators.
Systems and Process Improvement
- Lead efforts to improve costing methodologies and reporting processes.
- Support ERP enhancements and costing system improvements.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures.
- Utilize reporting tools such as Power BI, Excel, and ERP reporting capabilities.
- Drive automation opportunities within cost accounting processes.

- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Up to 25% travel
Qualifications – Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 8-12 years of costing experience.
- Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, Power Query, and financial modeling.
- Experience in a mid-sized or complex organization
- Experience with ERP systems and process improvement initiatives
